Seed to Series will highlight UC Berkeley startups that are currently or about to start raising capital.
1. Why this, why now
We all saw the Pitchbook rankings. Our goal is to bring more visibility into what Berkeley founders are currently working on.
2. The Cal Community
With visibility comes opportunity. Whether you’re an angel investor, VC, or even just a curious Cal alumni looking to support your fellow Bears, we hope that you’ll find value in seeing the things that Berkeley is pushing forward! Most of these companies are actively raising - if you’re interested, reach out and we can make an intro.
3. Databricks: Pre-IPO
We had a unique and very limited opportunity to participate in a pre-IPO SPV for Databricks. It was quickly oversubscribed, but in the future we may share some of these opportunities with readers!
4. Filling in the gaps
As the first edition, we know that S2S is still missing a ton of Berkeley startups on this list.
